We will again have our Resale Area, where “Someone else’s gently used; no longer desired item, is another’s treasure,” ready for you to come and find that item that you were so hoping to find. And we will again coordinate with Green Century to offer recycling for used electronics, Portland Disposal and Recycling for recycling of scrap metals, and McFarlane’s Bark for recycling large wood pieces (not brush or debris).
As part of the Reuse Pilot there will also be a reuse collection station involving local non-profits to accept reusable materials. Community Warehouse, Habitat ReStore, Community Cycling Center, and SE Tool Library, and other reuse organizations will be collecting reusable items. The Oregon Chapter of the Reuse Alliance has surveyed neighborhood cleanup coordinators and discussed adding reuse collection to neighborhood cleanup events in order to learn more about cleanups across the Portland area and the Reuse Pilot is part of understanding how reuse options are best implemented at Cleanups.
