Newsletter Delivery
For ease of organizing hand delivery and mailings for North Tabor Neighborhood the overall area has been divided into 10 subareas. Hopefully we will eventually have an Area Coordinator for each of these areas to coordinate deliveries within the specific area. Our address list has been organized into a database that lets volunteers sign up for any size area or any part of any area they wish to deliver in. Please look over the maps and decide an area you would be willing to deliver to and contact volunteer@northtabor.org to let our Volunteer Coordinator know what part of which area you can deliver. Generally deliveries are during the first week of the months January, March, May, July, September, and November. Newsletter staff needs to know by the last week of the month prior to delivery in order to prepare mailing lists prior to newsletter printing for areas with no volunteers. Volunteers will be provided maps and address printouts for each issue. Various factors may effect if some addresses are mailed rather than hand-delivered on an issue by issue basis. We are especially in need of coordinators and volunteers in Areas 5, 6, 7 and 8 for the September issue to be delivered late August or early September, but all areas could use additional help -- won't you give us a hand? Please volunteer by August 15th so we can plan our distribution.

All-
I am a Portland Police Lieutenant in charge of the Grand Floral Parade this year. I am trying something very different this year by decreasing the number of sworn police officers working the parade from 266 to about 80. In order to accomplish this, I am looking to replace a number of positions previously filled by officers with citizen volunteers from the community.
