ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Next C.N.A. Monthly Meeting will be held on June 19, 2007. Officers will be nominated and voted upon at this meeting.   Conversations continue about a “Board Retreat” in June, after the elections.  Discussions of a new meeting location continue as well as the use of e-mail and a phone tree to remind people about meetings.

NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECTS:

Robert provided an overview of last year’s C.N.A. projects and organizations to which we lended support, including:  National Night Out/visionPDX events; Grant High School Debate Team & On-Campus Graduation Party; Sullivan’s Gulch Trail; Neighborhood Clean-Up; Shogren House events; Land Use Coordination; and the neighborhood newsletter.

The coming year’s projects include much of the same efforts and activities. April talked about C.N.A.’s interest and recent efforts to begin restoration of Rosemont Bluff – coordinating support from neighborhood residents, local organizations and other neighborhoods.

Robert reminded us that we will also have an opportunity to participate in the Eastside MAX Station Area Development Study when this effort picks up again (hopefully this coming Autumn).

Members of the Providence Portland Medical Center constructions team were present to provide an update and answer questions about their ongoing projects within Center (the hospital addition and the 53rd/Glisan new development).

Fred Meyer sent one representative to answer questions about their remodel project and directed neighbors to the new store director or the project manager for questions he was not able to answer.  He announced the key shop, “A Good Locksmith” will no longer be on site due to space restrictions.

Ken Moholt-Siebert was also available to answer questions about the Laurelview development site at 47th and Burnside.

COMMITTEES:

Committee representatives and officers gave an overview of their roles within the neighborhood association in addition to our relationship with other organizations and invited neighbors to join our efforts.

As a member of the under-represented populations in Center Neighborhood Association, Shirley Nacoste noted the great importance and need for our continued efforts toward unity and inclusion in Center Neighborhood and her own commitment to remain at the decision making table in service to our neighborhood and to long-term changes in the city of Portland as well.

Meeting Adjourned sometime after 9:00 p.m.
