- Lyra Vega told us about what NorthStar Clubhouse does for the community. It’s a working community for folks who have mental health challenges that focus on social and vocational rehabilitation. They are funded through Luke-Dorf, County and Grants. Looking for more fiscal sponsorship right now and doing a GoFundMe Campaign to help with budget constraints. Visit www.northstarclubhouse.org.
IV. Land Use and Transportation Update
- Lisa Hersh gave an update on the demolition of the house next door to her. Looks like the house has changed ownership since December and the new builder is Dez Construction. Still dealing with property line issues and notifications from the builder of when things are happening.
- Will reported that there was a special meeting on 12/27 for the 53rd and Couch development voting on the appeal that was sent into the city. Hearing for the appeal is Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 2:30pm, in room 2500A at 1900 SW 4th Avenue.
- NTNA was notified on 1/18/17 by developer Ryan Olson of the development of a 28 unit apartment complex at 52nd and Burnside. Sam Fuqua is in contact to set up meeting with the developer, which needs to take place in the next 45 days from notification. More on this soon.
