North Tabor Neighborhood Association

Monthly Meeting

Date: Tuesday, January 15, 2019

Time: 6:30 – 8:00PM

Location: 4837 NE Couch St (Community of Christ Church)

Meeting called to order at

Board Members present: Sarah Mongue, Sam Fuqua, Chuck Tubens, Robert Jordan, Patty Lackaff, Zach Michaud, Stephanie Kaza and Keith Dechant

Board Members absent: Lars Kasch, Suzanne Gardner

Guest:

Quorum @ 6:35PM

I. Call to Order and Introductions (Robert):

  • Only board members tonight.

II. Call for Amendments to the Agenda (Robert):

III. Approval of December meeting minutes (Robert):

  • Sam motioned, Lars 2nd. All approved.

IV. Select new SEUL and Providence GNA Rep (Robert):

  • 82nd Ave improvement Open House. Check SEUL web site for more info.
  • Demolition on 230 NE 65th. Old house on a big lot.

V. Treasurer Report (Patty):

  • No change in amount.
  • $650 to Zach
  • $100 for Friends of Trees

VI. Communications Report (Keith):

  • Web Site Hosting account credit card is expired. Need a new one.
  • Patty can send a check, so will need an address and info to do that.
  • Keith was able to move the email lists. Was able to add emails to the board@ntna.org
  • Have an issue sending emails from Gmail, but other mail serves ok. Need to do some more research on this issue.

IX. Friends of Trees (Robert):

  • Requesting a donation of $100 and volunteers
  • Stephanie motioned, Lisa 2nd motioned to donate $100 to Friends of Trees to help with feeding the volunteers.
  • Patty Lackaff will be writing the check.

X. Mandala Project (Robert/Zach):

  • Robert is applying/writing a grant to help fund this project. Zach has applied for the City Repair discount for paint, etc.
  • Zach is the project lead for the Mandala 53rd and Everett St.
  • Reaching out to Glencoe, Mt Tabor, NorthStar Club House for community volunteers and input.
  • Robert wants to submit the grant application in the next 10 days.

XI. Draft agenda for February’s meeting

  • March mailer will be on new developments, save the date for the April Neighborhood clean-up and Mandala announcement
  • Announcements to Next Door and Facebook for Mandala and Clean-up
  • Include pruning workshop – weekend date
  • 3500 households to mail

XII. New Business

  • Zach reached out to Nancy Tannler at the SE Examiner for deadlines for publishing. Deadlines are the middle of the month for the following month.
