Quorum @ 6:38PM
I. Call to Order
— CJ called to order at 6:35PM
II. Introductions
— Went around and introduced ourselves. Two new guests.
III. Approval of June Meeting Minutes
— Robert motioned and Stephanie seconded, all approved.
IV. Treasure Report (Patty)
— $3033.98 now in the bank
— Check to DOJ for $50 plus $6 service charge
V. LUTC (Lisa) – July and August canceled, no report
VI. Communications (Keith, Jules)
— few emails to board going into spam folder, some legit, some scams
— Jules appreciates support for newsletter, if you send ideas, provide details so she can get it into format quickly. Needs items for Aug newsletter by early Aug, Aug 6 at latest. Good to be able to post links to items relevant to August agenda. Good stats on people opening the links, subscriptions going up steadily, still need to increase awareness around the newsletter, esp on social media. Need a landing page signup on the NTNA website and then can feature the newsletters on the NTNA site.
VIII. New Business
1) speed bumps on NE Everett – Robert sent letter asking about putting speed bumps on cross streets instead where the cross traffic tends to speed. PBOT respondent said funds were for particular “Fix Our Streets” projects. Stephanie suggested further response to encourage a wider perspective view on the cyclist user experience.
2) National Night Out (Suzanne asks) – any info on this? Robert says he hasn’t seen anything yet, though neighbors can do a small block party on their own
3) Development proposal: 6401 E Burnside/Ben Grubb
— townhouses, 20 planned in four buildings, 1000 sq ft, 2 bd, 2 bath, plus garage, all with AC, everyone with private balcony and patio out back; max price $412K with the affordable housing credit (can sell homes for less because city charges less for permits etc)
— on site parking, not on Burnside
— trees at north end of this unusually deep lot – don’t know yet what they can keep, some coming down, some larger setbacks required, need some turnaround space, city has strict guidelines
— hoping to break ground in 2021, city process with permits running slow, might be into 2022, should take seven months to build out
— will look like project on Washington St near Montavilla (two fiveplexes facing each other), also one in St Johns
IX. SEUL (Stephanie)
— three new community board members proposed and approved at July meeting
— proposal for shared leadership between ED and strategic consultant to work with board
— August off, next meeting Sept
— Stephanie needs to step down because of another new board commitment, so we need to find a replacement. Could be a rep with an alternate, could be a non-board member but it makes sense for the person to be on the board since they are giving reports and representing the NTNA at the SEUL meetings. Should be North Tabor NA resident.
X. New Business (continued)
4) Clean Neighborhoods Sponsorships Pilot
— not seeing a lot of examples or need, though a few places are mentioned and NT area is within the “yellow zone” of eligibility with the city
— could possibly cooperate with other neighborhoods if target areas identified, recommend signing up with Mt Tabor NA to get their newsletter with good info
5) SOLVE Participation
— if we want to have a neighborhood clean-up, we could do it through SOLVE on their website (Keith)
— or you can coordinate with their many scheduled events, some of which are sponsored by neighborhoods (Robert, Greg), not really possible to clean up train or MAX tracks for liability reasons
— maybe work with Mt Tabor NA to do something at the middle school in the fall around back-to-school or with Laurelhurst NA
Adjourned 7:49pm.
